In 2005 a gamer had a dream….
That dream was to create an Ogre army like no other. The gamer began a journey that would result in one the greatest Ogre armies of all time.

Hundreds of hours were spent converting and painting every model. His bitz box was completely depleted in search of pieces to create a truly unique army.
In March 2008 Matt Cole was on a train on his way to attend a tournament in Penrith. When he reached his stop every gamers fear had been realised. He reached down to pick up his carry case only to find it was missing. Ruthless brigands had stolen his army right in front of him.

If it can happen to Matt, it can happen to anyone….
All gamers understand what the pain of losing an army would be and as a community we must unite to help our fellow gamers in their time of need.

The fund has now been closed. Thanks very much to all who gave support. Through listener contributions we have raised almost $300 for Matts new army. The armies progress will be followed on the podhammer site so stay tuned.
Check out Matts progress with his new army in his Army Diary

Gooday mates,(I hope i spelled it right)
Heard the news last week during the podcast and I have to say that I really felt for you Matt, that is an amazing army. Chipped in for the fund and do hope it’ll help in you restarting the army.
Months ago, I heard the Gut Cast episode and you guys have convinced me to start a new Orge Kingdom army.I do hope Matt can succeed in rebuilding his army.
Listening to you guys have been really entertaining and inspirational. You guys really remind me to have fun while gaming(the community here is so serious till its intimidating). Great podcast! Keep the great work mates!
Cheers!
thats some crazy army, im sorry to hear this, i wasnt gonna donate but after seeing this army im gonna throw a couple of quid into the fund
Well after seeing this great army I posted on my local game store site to try and see if anyone will help with the fund and help out Matty a bit to quote my friend “After seeing that warhammer geeks will morn.”
Hey guys,
thanx heaps for your comments. Jeff is the mastermind behind Podhammer so all gratification should be aimed towards him. I’m just happy to help a mate help the wargaming community out. Here is a link to my WIP ogres before they were completed.

Once again I would like to thank you for your efforts and look forward to doing an army diary so you can see just how much your support means to me. Just have to push Jeff to do one with me! ;o)
Cheers,

Matty
Damn, that is terrible I just can’t imagine how gutting that must be. I hope you can find the time and motivation to rebuild your army as those pictures are awsome.
And I would say for the next one, carry case with a shoulder strap and wrap that strap around a leg so there is a physical tie to it.
What a tragedy! As soon as I as get my PayPal active again (it was hacked, this world is full of heathens) I’ll be making my donation. Maybe there will be enough donations to employ you full time as an Ogre army modeler and painter.
Cheers
I enjoyed the Gutcast episode so much that I felt inspired to start my own Ogre army. I felt obligated to donate to the Get Matty an ogre fund if only to keep his unique Ogre perspective in the podcast.
Thanks
Ro
I’m very sorry to hear about your loss Matty. Here’s $25 towards your new army, a little nudge to get you up and running (just like that little nudge i gave you setting you up to win the 2007 confrontation tournament).
Cheers,
Staks
I have listened to the episode a couple of times i have heard how precious your army was to you and how spectacular it was painted i feel very upset for you.I hope you get a another spectacular army as your old one.Ben 9 years old.
Once again thanx for all your comments and donations. I have been talking to Jeff about getting access to the site to freely post up an army blog, where I will be asking for your feedback and opinions, as I want this army to feel its been one built by the gaming community Your comments have inspired me to get another ogre army ‘like no other’ up and running within the short future.
You in particular Staks will love this new army.
Happy daylight savings!!
Cheers,
Matty
