The Doomwheel is insanely good, I think everyone always misses the part where its 3 shooting attacks that automatically hit do D6 wounds per unsaved wound. Also it moves like a chariot, not in a straight line like the abomination. So roll up a 10 for movement with an infantry block 8 inches in front of you, you can move 8 into its flank arc, then pivot and move 2 into its flank. At least I think it works that way…
Night Runners with the grinder aren’t bad at all, but I don’t know if I’d go for a full block of 20. They can pop up facing any direction and charge on the turn they arrive, which gives them a bit of threatening power. Sure they can’t tackle much in a straight up fight, but the idea is they will be somewhere ranked infantry shouldn’t be, forcing things to turn around and compensate. Most likely they will be able to turn up and charge something easy, then get a table quarter or kill fleeing units via crossfire.
Also didn’t hear it mentioned, but the new rat swarms are not skirmishers. Bad in some ways, but I think this means they can flank units and deny rank bonus (US3 per base). They won’t crumble near as much with that combat res in their favor, making them better at pinning something in place (for one or two turns).
Great show, makes me want to build a quick list.
Good early review of the rats. One thing I thought was overlooked, warp firethrowers will be the weapon team of choice in 7th edition S5, D3 wounds and hits everyone touched by the template!!!! This will takeover where the rattling gun finished.
