Im going to be honest, Im not sure. I dont really get the idea. The dryad sort of looks out of place and a natural tree doesnt really seem to blend well with an organic dragon. It may be the pictures that dont do it justice or possibly its just the first stages that dont do it justice, but currently I dont get it.

I half agree with Sai (I’m afraid) in that the standing Dryad seems a bit out of place. It seems to pull the direction of focus in two ways – to the head of the dragon yet also the dryad… How about something like molding the dryad emerging from the dragon just as the dragon is emerging from the tree? Good luck with it though!

I agree with James and Sai. The dryad doesn’t do it for me. I LOVE the dragon coming out of the tree (great job on that!), but the dryad just seems way too out of place (not to mention the pose of the dryad is very ‘Zombies Ate my Neighbors-ish’)

My suggestion would be to give the Dragon a different rider (or at least in a different pose) and it will look bad-ass.

It looks like it’s got awesome potential. Looking forward to the finished article. If you’re quick you can enter it into my forum’s painting competition (entry closed on 20th June but we’re flexible-ish):-

I’ll be back to check on progress. All the best,
