Shownotes:
This show was recorded a few days after episode 25, Matt Cole came up to Newcastle for the weekend so we couldn’t let him go without recording a show. Of course Dave Palmer was there so we had to let him in aswell.
Another big one as we talk about the games we played that day and how Matt did at the ANUWTF tournament in Canberra.
Thanks for listening, help out the show by telling a friend or tell many friends by leaving and Itunes review

First off, let me tell you, I am a big fan of the podcast, and I’ve been following you since the fifth or sixth episode from the other side of the globe – namely Norway. I enjoy listening to both the in depth conversations and opinons on the game itself as well as the banter between you guys.
just finished listening to the last episode, and I wanted to comment on the desition about not commenting on the new army books when they come out. Personally I have enjoyed both your initial different takes on the lists, and the later opinions on them. I think it’s a good thing to comment on it both when it is fresh and later on.
Just keep on discussing lists, games played and tactics, as well as interesting combos of troops and magic items! Great work, Jeff!
bah, lousy english there. What I meant to say was that I wanted to comment on your desition about not analyzing the new army books when they first come out. There.
Great show but I have to disagree about the original Mother, I think it was slightly better then the new one, with the new one all they have is give it a berry flavour.
Now for a good Mix drink, I like to call:
The Mother F**ker
In your standard spirit glass put one shot of Bourbon
One shot of Cointreau citrus (original should be fine)
Top it up with Mother (the original)
Enjoy.
P.s. drink responsibly
Good stuff, good mix of cohosts. I disagree with the comment about Jeff lacking energy without Dave. It is a different show without the boys in that it’s all about business and straight to the point, but I have to say Jeff still does a great job on his own. The boys add a bit more fun but you end up with a longer show (not that it is necessarily a bad thing).
Having the two different styles I think is good for the show because there are some times where you want fun and others where you want a serious show. This also helps get more people into podhammer because there will be those people who are offended by Dave cause he’s a mad b*$&$!@* and will listen to the ‘down to business’ shows. And the same is in reverse other people will want the fun that the boys bring.
Keep up the good work. By the way, just for a laugh and for one show just get Dave to host it on his own.
I still think one of the best episodes is the number 24 (Brettonians) and Dave played a pretty small role in that one :p
I like that kind of episode. It gives people a good idea on how an army works and how to build a list.
btw, laughed my head off when matt said rough riders and Jeff and Dave in unison correct him with utter distain.
I was delighted to hear Empire will be a feature for 2009! nice one guys. cant wait to hear what happens
Another really great show. I have said it before but these kind of “On topic but not” shows are what make podhammer great.

Fear the Blue Osyter Bar, Dave mate, you had a lucky escape
Congrats on another great show. As an Empire player, I’m curious to see a list of what you used in the game. Cheers!
As much as I really enjoy your show, I felt the content and language of the last podcast was over the top – and inappropriate. I hope this isn’t the direction this podcast will take.
bah. I hope the podcast isn’t going to change to adapt to american FCC standards. Keep the raunchiness, and the humor!
This podcast is never offense to my British ears.
Keep Podhammer the way it is, because it flows naturally and feels more ‘human’….if that makes sense?
I was thinking about how comp system works for australia and I think the best way to put it is that it’s designed to remove the tall poppies from the top places. This is the reason why in Aus there is such a rejection of the way tournies are done in other countries and why GW is rejected when it tries to say this is how it will be done. Australians hate Tall Poppies.
In Aus we like the battlers to be on top not the people who will use all the “dirty” tricks to gain easy wins. The harder the battle the sweeter the victory and in aus the harder you had to fight to get that win and the more of a top bloke you are while doing it the more you deserve that top place.
What’s even better is that warhammer is one of those games where being a battler actually works because as they boys keep saying it’s a game of strategy and most of the time the best general wins. What would be really interesting to see is when Aus sends a team to the games in europe, it will be a different game for them due to the differences in comp but I wouldn’t be surprised if the way it’s done here will mean the team will pull sweeter victories.
Believe it or not, the difference in comp between UK and Aus is hardly there. The majority of tournaments this year I have attended (I do one a month) have been comp’d here in the UK. Dont let the UK GW GT and a few select internet reports give you a bad impression of the UK tournament scene.

Where is your Empire list?
Go check out Warhammer-Empire.com. The best Empire site there is. A great site to go, full of great advice and tactics. Learn the ways of the Empire a ‘real’ mans army.
And always take two cannons Jeff.
Cheers
Loved the podcast. As much as I love Dave, I’m starting to think that Matt Cole, in some respects, is the best co-host. What do you guys think?
Great Podcast and I have only one question. Where is the Chaos Dwarf list detailed at. I know that there is a snipit of information in the back of the main warhammer list but where are the point costs and other data?
