Hmmm, a very odd show I must admit. I didn’t know Bretonnian players could be considered good? Just kidding.
I must admit that I disagree with the “weaknesses” of the Brets. Panic is not a real weakness as the knights are immune to panic from those who are vulnerable enough to cause it (peasants). Errant Knights are immune to psychology on the charge. And in pro-longed combat, brets actually benefit from having low Ld. If they break, that means they can rally, and lance charge again.
This army literally angers me. With my dwarves, I am convinced it is impossible to defeat them at 1500pts or less, and very difficult at 2k or higher. In fact, in order for a dwarf player to have a chance, they have to know they’re facing Brets before the game.
I’ll be off to a local tournament (Cardiff Carnage) in South Wales in August. If you want to sent the stickers all the way to the UK, I’ll gladly hand a few around.
Good Podcast mate, makes me want to my Bret army again.
My local Gaming Club is starting to look at going to tournaments but i’ve never taken part in one, think if we go to Fantasy over 40K then I will be going Bretonnians, that or Vampire Counts as its what all the cool kids do and there is a half decent list around here somewhere;)

Is it possible to get a type up of the Bret list? A great episode with a lot of information.

It is very nice having actual players commenting the army they are playing.
Have you thought of maybe posting a Battle report from the battles you play with speakage? Or maybe a tournament final or a game between really top class players. It would be great actually seeing a battle minimap and hearing why someone is making this move or using that tactic.
I know it is not easy but maybe it could worth the try…

Wow. As far as Bret lists go, that one isn’t too bad. Mind you, my only experience of fighting them is mighty whacking lances of at least 12 Knights. A real soul crushing experience.

First time listener. I list to a bunch of podcasts at work all week and I will be adding Podhammer to my list! This is a very well run podcast, good quality sound, and good information. Glad I found out about it.
I love this show. I love how you analyze lists and armies. I wish their was a site where all the top players would post their current lists. I know there is a large tournament scene in the US but I don’t know who the top players are. Anyways another great show and I look forward to your next effort. Thanks!
The two games I had against VC (played by Jeff & Dave Palmer) after the podcast without a Trabuchet went very well, they were both solid victories. I’ve had 8 more games without the Treb since and am finding that the extra unit of 6 knights Errant with no banner are far more effective for me than the treb and 3rd scroll I dropped. I can use the knights every turn and since Brets win in movement and combat I have an additional unit that adds to the strength of the army.
