Ogre Diary Pt2 - First Model!!

Aright guys, here we go and the first pics of my Ogre army are up and running! I would like to say that I waited for Swearing Dave’s cult of followers/stalkers to stop flooding the server with emails or that him spanking me like a biatch with his new Top Dave status on the gaming table; I would have had this up earlier. But the pressure is on and I have to pull my head in!
After painting this guy three times, I was finally happy with the colour scheme suited for a forest/wood themed army, still haven’t done the tats to define his rank etc. I will talk more about the theme in the next podcast, but what I have learnt is the wonders of the black vs white undercoat and to do the bases and models separately!!
I’m still waiting for a few models to arrive though next update will be about what models I will be using for each of the characters and units PLUS how I am going to personalize them to fit in with the others.

Loven’ it, I think the model fits perfectly for you theme.
Wasnt sure how that model was going to look, but with the basing and with the really nice paint job looks ace!

Thanx alot guys. Just assembling the other 11 bulls as we speak. You are right about the basing bringing the theme to the model. The whole army will be Back2Basix bases mixed with GW plastic trees, so wait till you see what I have in stall later down the track when I get to the gnoblars and Rhinox Riders (IF thats what you can call them! ;o) )
Oh and Tim, never done anything substantial with the GS before but you will see definately see it.

Ogres look great, if indeed they are ogres! Wondered what happened to your idea of giving them a ‘light’ theme. In one of the podcasts you mentioned angels and a few other things…
Demetri: thanx fror the comment. the ‘Angel’ Wolfen are on there way. Next update will show you a few peeks at what I am trying to achieve. Basically it will go by rank. So Bulls have tatoo wings then the IG will have Pegasus wings, upto Tyrant with Hippogriff wings. Then the Rhinox riders….Well you will see! ;o)
