Podhammer Episode 12 – Warhammer Jesus

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

250×250.jpg

Episode 12 was recorded at the Dogcon tournament. Early in the recording you may hear what sound like very rough edits what actually happened is my USB port disconnected a few times which cut out the mics. I didnt realise this until after the recording. Of course this didnt happen when I said something ‘umm’ or ‘aagh’ but when I said important things like my guests name and our sponsors websites. It only for a few minutes early on and then there isn’t any problems. – Just thought I’d let you know!

Rackham metal figs still available

Friday, January 18th, 2008

header_short_04.jpg

It seems Rackham will continue to support their metal figure range…sort of

From Tabletop Gaming News :

Word from Jean Bey on the Rackham English forum appears to confirm that Rackham will continue to produce metal figures and that they will be available from Fantasy Flight Games.

From their website:

Regarding the metal miniatures: we have some stocks, we have the moulds, we can continue casting our range, we can create our masters and our metal moulds if needed. So metal minis will remain available without C3 stats cards, but remain available. What I told previously it’s simply that we will no more produce huge production quantity as before.

Oops…

Saturday, January 5th, 2008

It has come to my attention we made a small mistake in the Ogre Kingdoms episode. So we don’t give people the wrong Idea I thought I would clear it up.

When Matt and I discussed ‘big names’ we mentiond that a Tyrant with Mawseeker (+1 toughness and stupidity) would not suffer from stupidity if he joined a unit of Immune to Psychology Maneaters.

This is incorrect as in 7th ed. Immune to Psychology specifically refers to ‘fear’, ‘terror’ and panic. Therefore the Tyrant would still have to take stupidity tests.

It is very important to me that we provide accurate and well thought out opinions. However Warhammer is a big game and there is alot to remember. Due to the unscripted nature of the shows things like this do come up and if we do make any mistakes in the future I will correct them as I have done here.

Thanks for listening

Jeff

p1010102-1.JPG

Podhammer got a small advert in the January edition of the Australian White Dwarf. I asked them a few months ago to see if they would do it for me, and they came through!

Thank you very much to the Staff at the Australian White Dwarf for your help in spreading the word about Podhammer.

Audio clips for the show.

Wednesday, January 2nd, 2008

helmet.jpg

I have put a call out for people to submit audio clips that I can play on the show. So I thought it would be a good idea to let you know the best way to do it.

You need the following things:

  • A cheap mic – a standard gaming headset or usb desk mic will do, you dont need anything fancy.
  • Audacity – This a free open source program that you can use to record audio and save it as a .WAV file.
  • Winlame – Another free program that converts .wav to .mp3 format

Its as simple as that. If you have any questions send me an email and I’ll be happy to help.

You can also leave them on the feedback line +1 213 7840927

I want this to be your show. The warhammer community is so diverse and this is the place to have your say.

The Next Episode….

Tuesday, January 1st, 2008

Episode 11 will be recorded in a couple of weeks. The topic for this episode will be “the Top 5 Characters combos of Warhammer”.

Myself and a yet to be determined guest host/hosts will discuss our top 5 picks from the myriad of characters combinations available, and I encourage you to submit your top 5 and we will pick a select few and read them on the show.

Your top 5 can be determined by any factor you choose. You might pick something because of its awesome destructive power, you might think it is effective for the points it costs, you might like it because of the fluff/background of the character, even if you just think its a dead sexy model. Any reason is ok

A few rules regarding your submission:

  • Keep it short and to the point.
  • Explain why you chose the characters you chose.

Send your submissions to podhammer@gmail.com with the subject line “top 5” as either an audio submission or a written email.

Alternatively you can submit and discuss them through the forums and MWUnion.com

The best submissions will receive a Podhammer supporters button sent to them in the mail
