Hi Jeff. New listener here so I'm going back to the early episodes. Good stuff as always.
I have to add to the whine debate. It was definetely a peak segment of this episode! Of course I understood that you overreacted on purpose. Funny stuff. Can't wait for the next episode, and the best part is: I don't have to! :)

Very good. I like the tactics reviews. Ask for advice from some more tournament players for orcs and gobbos please. Good to hear you guys are from Oz. Keep up the good work!

Speaking of whining about pointless things.....
But I like your idea about making fun of guest whiners that could be an even funnier segment.
There are some forum posters who get really worked up over the stupidest things.
Call the feedback line with your 'anti whine' whine and i'll play it on the show :)
Just so you know I'm being a little cheeky you probably don't think its funny. But I am only joking. Thanks for your comments and thanks for listening.

If the whine was for humour then it's ok (I though it might have been, although i didn't find it funny)... but a lot of other people whine about equally pointless things seriously. How do you plan to keep a comedic element to the whine if you invite other people to whine too? It could be easy to end up insulting the 'guest whiner'.

I have my own whine. Why on earth did you use so many shamans in a Beast of Chaos army? Nobody starts a battle with beast-men thinking “How will I survive the over powering magic of the beast-men’s shamans?” I am mainly concerned with the hellish number of big bad, hand to hand monsters that will tear my general in half then eat his still beating heart. Based on the army list you gave, it seems you are still thinking like a vampire counts general. You are placing too much importance on the magic phase.

With that in mind I would suggest dumping the great shaman and replacing him with a Doom-bull, he is a force of nature and doesn’t have to worry about little things like fear. I would also dump the unreliable chariots for a terror causing Shaggoth; the ogres don’t have a high enough leadership to make many leadership checks. And if you’re really hurting for of our own ogres I have heard horror stories about what dragon ogres have done to armies.

I should also note that when most Beast of Chaos players talk about their army’s herd units I have never heard of them doing well on their own (with the exemption of one unit with some banner that granted the unit poisoned attacks), they seem to work best as a flanking unit.

One last note, if you are worried about the ogre’s gut magic there is a simple solution. KILL THE BUTCHER!!! The fast majority of ogre armies will only have one spell caster, and the will keep him outside of a unit because ogres are too pricy to give him a bodyguard unit. With any luck the butcher will be tied up in combat by turn three a level two shaman should be able to handle your magical defense for two turns.

Best of luck, may the dice gods be with you.

Wow, a lot of anti-whiners. Weird. I loved the segment! Very human of you!

Let's face it, there is a lot to whine about when it comes to Games Workshop. I think whining *should* be promoted at all costs. Love the segment, it makes complete sense.

People who say you shouldn't whine typically work for GW! :P

I hate the plastic giant model, it's awful. Rebasing is no big deal though, not to me. :)

Cheers,

Ok seems like most people didn't like the whine. But I will let you in on a little secret.........

It was a joke. I deliberatley picked a really pathetic thing to complain about, and I didn't really lose it I was pretending.

Oh well maybe I have a warped sense of humour.

Good job on the episode! The full episode on audience feedback was a great idea. By the way, here's some more better quality pictures of the new Daemonettes and the Vamps.

The Warhammer Whine segment scared me.....
It might be fun to listen to people who call whine..
but I prefer my host to remain calm...
and as Jeff said we dont really need more whiners..

anyways I`m enjoying the show and keep up the good work..

I enjoy the show even though I dont play WHFB, although I do have lots of figs that I use for other games.

Personally I like the whine and was glad to learn that the segment was added. It is always good to show both sides of the coin.

I really enjoyed this show, although the nature of it won't allow for as much replay as the review episodes.

I found the Warhammer Whine to be a potentially comedic segment. No one likes to listen to someone complain, and I was initially turned off by the segment. However this turned around when you just "lost it", at which point I found myself laughing. Assuming this intent I think this could be a nice way to quickly close out the show.

This episode seemed to really have you feeling comfortable with the show. The "Maneater" bit had me laughing, good addition.

Generally a good show.
I agree with not promoting Halloween in Aus.

My only major request is:
Please drop 'Warhammer Whine'
Whining is really not something that should be encouraged. It's usually badly thought out and pathetic- not something I want to listen to, especially as you're opening it up for anyone out there who's stubbed a toe...
Although I mean no offence in this, your own whine is really pretty poor. The issue is nothing new (Ungor, treemen, the new HE dragon) and is really not that hard to fix (you don't have to pull the model off the old base- you can glue it on top of a new one and sculpt around the original one to make a hill. Easy). It's also very poor form to blame a sculptor for things like this- they don't have as much say in things like this as you may think. Your 'anger' also seemed comically forced. I assume your intention wasn't to make people laugh.
Overall, this is the worst segment of the show and I don't think it'll be able to improve. You can do much better things with this time.

haha loved the rant. its true, i mean i had a mate who bought 4 of the old giants and when faced with either re-basing them or buying new ones, he bought 4 new ones! i believe that games-workshop is slowly (but surley) becoming less concerned with the gamers and more with profits. the give away for this is that you cant buy the bases seperatly.

please note. i am not paying out GW staff, all the guys ive met are great lads.
